Default OEM front fairing material?

I have a '02 954 that has 2 broken tabs in the front fairing which attach to the headlight assembly and another 2 broken tabs at the headlight assembly attaching it to the fairing stay. I am considering glueing them and I think it's ABS but want to confirm before I get the glue. I've also read that ABS shavings mixed in acetone may also work. Has anyone done this repair before and know what works best?

I would get some super epoxy or any two part epoxy that you have to mix together. It will bond anything together, trust me.
Ace hardware sells the super epoxy that i've always used and one tube will last for ever. I used it to bond the head of a metal bolt to the back of a plastic grille on my truck and it's still holding as far as I know(sold the truck).

If you look inside the fairing you will see ABS embossed on it. The side fairing are PP. There are plastic repair kits sold for body work shops. I picked up a 60ml tube of glue from one of them (Plastex) for AUS$10. The glue is ABS so it is like welding. Clean up back to raw plastic where you are going to glue with a dremel if possible, I know this is hard for the tabs, and clean before gluing with SolPrep, (Wax and Grease remover).
I only used Solprep on my tabs and glued them. Left them alone for 24hrs and they were strong.

I just repaired a few broken mounting tabs on my headlight/front fairing this past weekend. Plastic weld from Advance Auto parts works great. It is a two-part epoxy but very easy to use. I have used it before to fix cracked fairings in the past with no problems.

Default update

I used the Perma Poxy 5 minute plastic weld on the broken tabs. It seems pretty strong, but I won't know until after I install it and ride it.
