Default Numbness in fingers after long ride

Have any of you ever experienced this say 3 or 4 days on and off after the ride ( numbness in thumb, pointer and middle finger)? I definitely need to change grips as they get numb fast like 10 to 15 miles, I hate pulling my hands of my bars as it doesn't feel (to shake and relax).

My trip was around 500 miles and I think in twister portions I was kung fu gripin the bars, so maybe this resulted in muscle fatigue and stressed pinched nerves I don't know. Anyhow, any pointers appreciated hope my writing isn't rambling and understandable.

I get that too even on short 30 mile commutes. I get it when Im focusing hard and not realizing how hard Im gripping the bars... But then I just let go for a second and relax my hand...

I bought some weighted bar ends off ebay... I think they weigh 9 oz. each. They help with vibration in the bars which is a little bit more comfortable on the hands..

yea me too. Distance doesn't matter. Somedays, I get that in short distance, and somedays I don't. Somedays, long ride does it and somedays doesn't. I think more I try not to grip hard, I must do it.

Yeah I need to figure it out, I guess 500 miles on a sportbike can do it to you. I was actually good at 300 but had the other 200 miles to get back home lol.

I too get it almost every time. Normally after about 60km. Don't have a converter at hand... It's usually caused by stiff shoulder muscles that push on the nerves of your hand. I consulted my doctor and some friends about this who all ride bikes, incl. The doc, and the first question from everybody was how heavy is ur helmet. I said it's an old openable-mask type helmet that weighs 1560grams and they went in an instant like "there u have it". Planning to get a carbon fibre one next summer...

I have the same problem, gripping the bars too hard and leaning forward in that sports position with all your weight on the tendons in your hands. I have had both hands operated on for carple tunnel. You can get soft spongy grips which help or fit a cruise control or throttle lock for those long haul trips.

If you're feeling numbness after 3 days, I can't say it is the grips...... I no longer have inner bar weights, which makes it worse. Mine will go numb because of this but not because I squeeze to hard. I don't white knuckle as is. You can be a defensive driver and still relax....

I ahve a throttle rocker for long highway drives, Works wonders as you can stretch your hand while still on the throttle and they are like $10.

I get the some numbness in my hands occasionally, only advice I can give is bend your elbows until your back hurts lol.
