Default new from Alabama

i know this isnt the new guy section, but i wanted to say hi in the 954rr section, just made more sense.

been doing lots of reading on this bike, and was offered a killer deal on a friends 954rr, so i picked it up sunday.

i have been riding Kawi's for ten years now, started with a KZ900, then a Z-1000, then to a ZX-10 ninja. i like the handling/braking of this 954 very much so far. looking forward to learning more, and making it run a little faster when the budget allows.

i am in mobile, Al

so hi everyone. good to be here and on a reliable honda

thank you !

i am not crazy about the flame graphic stuff, but i love the bike so far. has lots of CF parts, blue anodized pieces, frame sliders, yoshi exhaust ... new tires, GPR stabilizer. it feels strong enough for now. i havent had a sportbike in a few years, switched to a cruiser when my son arrived. i couldnt stand the cruiser!! back to riding now.

i am not exactly sure which kit is on, i think its just a slip on yoshi .

my friend wrecked it doin about 20mph, and took it to a local bike shop for repair, they put the fairings and graphic package on there for him. he has a lot of upgrades done to it ... but i am thinking of two toning it black/silver. i already have a jacket that color scheme, and think it would look killer with the black lower half and silver upper.

720s? not a street truck i assume, thats moving pretty good. Daddy has a Ford Pinto with a 347, runs 690s low 6s on the juice fun ride. I love my LX, needs some small things here and there, but its a nice car. after i blow up my 302(if i ever do) ima gonna put a 331 stroker with 185 afr heads, should run ALOT better.

Actually, it was my daily driver. LOL it is just a street toy. I built the stock motor in it , and it let go at around 50K miles. Then I picked up a 6.0, bored it .030 over and started on it. fairly aggressive cam/heads, 3600 billet stall, 4.11 gears, built auto/OD trans. It’s a fun ride on the street. It went 7.20 at full weight with a toolbox on the back, carseat inside, diapers, etc. I never stripped all that off and ran it. of course, that was ran on a 100 dry shot of juice.

But the bike is faster by far, and the truck has been up for sale for a while, so I rarely drive it anymore.

hell i've had ford, dodge, toyota, chevy. whatever is fast and noisy i like. had a 347 stroker in my last gt. ran about like my truck does on the spray. mid 11 sec in the 1/4 mile.

i want to get this bike to the track soon. i have to get a strap for the front end, and i am gonna go make some 1/8 th passes. i have a track 5 miles from my house. not gonna run it too many times, try to save the clutches from too much abuse. the zx-10 went low 6's down there, but i never could get a good launch without wheelie's happening. they spray the track down with that VHT heavily. hooks great.

i will be sure to post times up on here when i get it to the track.
