Default Need a little help choosing bike

Hi I've been without a bike for a year now and thats just way too long! I'm looking at getting a bike in about a month. So far I have decided that I want a Fireblade, whether it be a 900rr, 929rr, 954rr, or a 1000rr. I'm looking to spend around $3000. I was just wanting peoples opinions on which one. If anyone has one for sale by any chance let me know. I'm in Louisville Ky. I'm 6'1" and over 300lbs. so i figured a liter bike would do me a little better than my old CBR 600F. Thanks in advance for all the advice!

well I would say that any of the bikes would be great choices, I don't know if you can find a decent 1krr for 3 grand but maybe if you stayed patient you could come up with something. I have owned 2 954's and they were both great bikes. I don't have any experience with the 929 or 900. I rode a 1000k on a test ride but i wasnt on it long or hard enough to be able to feel out the differences between it and the 954. I would say though that coming from a 600f that any of these bikes should have plenty of power and performance capabilities by comparison to your old bike. The extra little bit of power and handling that you may get from 900vs929 or 929vs954 or 954vs1000rr will probably not come into play unless you are doing a track day or you push limits on the street.

The 900 & 929 are great machinesbut I would stick with the 954 or a newer 1K. Fuel Inj.....Nuff said! Its gonna be hard to get on a newer 1K with $3000 though. Keep an eye out and you should find something.

I have found a 2004 CBR 1000rr for $3000. It has been laid down but in the pics doesnt look too bad, all the plastics are still on. They said just some cosmetics on the plastics and thats all and that it rides fine. It has a full Jardine exhaust. Sound good?

The 2000 CBR 929 was the first year for fuel injection. I found my 2003 954 on craigslist for $3500 in Oct 09 so good deals are out there you just need to be patient.
