Now, the new front turn signals that I have just bought only have 2 wires one positive for the ground and one negative for the actual turn signal, but when i removed one of my stock turn signals there was 3 wires one ground, one for the turn signal and one of the running lights. Now is this legal to have just the turn signal there with no running light? or should i seek out another pair or turn signals? The new ones look awesome and seem bright eneough for the road but will i get pulled over for not having the running lights?? Any help would be great and fyi i live in Massachusetts if that has anything to do with it.

Dont worry bout the running lights, i dont care for the running lights myself. Im always glad to get rid of the running lights, i think it just looks sweet without them on all the time. Its not illegal to remove the running lights as long as you have blinkers. Again i just prefer the running light eliminator.

 

But will i get pulled over for not having them????

 

No...i did the same thing to mine. looks much better without them. And theres nothin illegal about it.

 

up to you, most aftermarket are 2 wire.. but there are some that are 3.. i only had 2 and just used them as blinkers but running lights are nice sometimes, if a cop if picky i guess maybe there is always that chance but i wouldn't worry about it

 

they may be required in some states, however, the AMA does not have anything listed. I would call you local highway patrol.

 

doesn't matter what you do. Depending on what style signals you got, you can buy either a 3 wire or 2 wire eliminating your running lights. Whether or not it is legal or illegal...they are probably illegal. I don't know of any aftermarket turn signals getting a DOT approval. So unless you want to be ugly and have the stock wings for turn signals...there is nothing you can get that will be legal! Might as well make it look good. Besides cops don't care unless they just want to make your life hell!
