need help !!!
Yes, we know, pulling the plugs is harder said than done, but with a 1/4 inch ratchet, a spark plug socket, and some u joints(wobble joints), oh ya, a 1/4 inch extension, and 1/4 to 3/8 adapter, you can pull the plugs without even lifting the tank. You will have to move the radiator out of the way though. All these tools can be picked up for less than $25 at Harbor Freight. Get them hands dirty girl(you are a girl arent you?)
Changing the spark plugs from the front is much harder than raising the tank. The 954 has a prop rod attached to the bottom of the front seat to hold up the tank. Once the tank is propped up all you have to do is remove the airbox cover, filter, velocity stacks and unplug a few sensors to set the airbox out of the way. Also you can buy spark plugs from your local auto parts store like Advance Auto much cheaper than from a motorcycle shop. They don't keep them in stock but can usually have them the next day for nearly half the price.
Your soul, if they can get it out of you; but, seriously it all depends on what shop you go to. I got a guy that was doing everything for me for dirt cheap when I was working too many hours to do it myself; im in SoCal pm me if you want his number. Affiliate yourself with bikers, and your guaranteed to find one that can do everything for you for cheaper than any shop.
Do it yourself, it's not hard at all. It would be a good time to block off the pair valves also.

$450 for WHAT?! an oil change? then a brake bleed, spark plugs, and clutch adjustment?
holy hell, please tell me you're kidding.
if that's true, you should go back there and raise hell

But it comes with valve adjustment and custom tune.
An associate of mine is trying to help me get my business started; he says smart businesses "the shop" pay 1/3 to employees, 1/3 back into the business, and 1/3 is overhead. If your going to own a bike for a longtime, you better learn to wrench on it, or have money up the azz to pay other dudes overhead costs.
