Default My first 954

I have been wanting a 954 for a long time but havent really looked into pricing alot. I found one the other day and have been talking to the guy about it. it is an 03 with 18000 miles never down clean title and owned buy a honda dealer machanic. He wants $3800 for it. I have not seen it in pearson yet because it is 4 hours away. from all the pics it looks to be a very clean bike. just looking for some help on if it is a good price or is so low that i should worry. also what to look for when i do go to look at. are there any common problems to look for on these bikes. any help would great thanks

i think that sounds like a good deal. that is a low price (going by craigslist ads), but it thats about what they blue book for. 954 is the best bike i've ever ridden, go look at it in person and just talk with the guy.

Like cornice said, it's what they book at, but people charge more them. Kinda like a niche bike I guess. Check for leaks, ie: fork seals from wheelies, etc. Best bike I've owned as well. Take it out for a ride and you'll fall in love lol. One common problem is the fuel pressure regulator but it's any easy fix for about $90.00 if it happens to be an issue.

That compares favorably with the one I just bought, particularly if he's slightly negotiable. Obviously put the cash in his hand for the proper purchasing leverage, which worked well for me to get $400 off the asking price. I hope the bike checks out and hope to see your update that you bought it! Good luck!

to add to aj's post, i'd also look at the radiator if you can. make sure that the mount for the radiator is straight (they bend really easy in an off). but these bikes are fairly bullet-proof IMO, so buy with confidence, and if you do have a problem, everyone on here can usually guide you to a solution fairly easy.
