Default Muzzy on a 954?

Hey Y'all,

I picked up a 2002 954 and it came with a Hindle slip on. It sounds nice and all but I've always loved the sound of Muzzy exhausts/slip on but I don't think they make exhausts for the 954. Can a Muzzy slip on work on the 954 and if so which model? I also want to get a PC.

I may be thinkin about trading my Arrow bolt-on. Its got about 3000 miles on it. Its the polished exhaust. Heres a sound clip but not my bike and this is the carbon one. I'd like to get a carbon pipe. Thats really my only reason fot passibly trading. Not a cheap muffler I have.

You can do whatever you want to your bike; go to an exhaust shop, and ask them to put this on that, and with enough green, they'll weld just about anything on, and off your bike. Btw, doesnt mean its a good idea though.

Yea I've always loved the sound of Muzzy's. My buddy had a 97 ZX7 with a Muzzy slip on and when we went riding and I would be behind him on my gixxer the sound of his exhaust would always make me smile. Imo it sounded like a race bike, a nice low growl with a deep throaty sound and would scream. I had a Yosh slip on my 98 gixxer but I didnt like the sound of it. I bought it used and got a good price on it but it wasnt my first choice..

Back in 1999 (I think) Cycle World did a test of 10 full exhaust systems with a PC on a gixxer 750. The difference between all the systems were like 3hp diff but the Muzzy was at the top producing the most numbers.
I had a copy of the mag but over the years I tossed out all my mags so its gone. It was a great write up of most of the full systems out at the time and the numbers the made. Yosh, twobro, muzzy, leovin, mircon were some of the systems involved in the test.

Here's a few clips of the Muzzy sound. One is a gixxer but you get the idea of the deep throaty growl that im talkin about...

wow, couldn't imagine why you'd think that? it couldn't possibly be because its the pipe you have

debating about which pipes are better - especially on a streetbike - is POINTLESS because the power numbers don't matter and sound its personal preference. get what you like and be happy about it.

if you're married to the idea of a muzzy oldschool, you can try to find one for a 929. they'd bolt right up. you may just have to wait a lil longer for one. ive seen that people on the internet have had them on their bikes - so i know they're out there. you may just have to be patient and wait until one shows up

if you're not patient - like me - g said it. make some sort of adapter plate and have it welded to the muzzy can. then it'd "bolt-on"

I don't get a kickback from them, and never even heard 1 before I got this bike. My other bikes have a Kerker and a Delekvic, but the Jardine has the best sound. IMO
