Lost only key...

RE: Lost only key...
You should be able to remove the ignition cylinder (as long as the bars aren't in the locked position) and take it in to the dealership. There is a number on the inside of the cylinder that they will use to cut you a new key. I had to do this recently to a friend's 900RR that lost his only key, it was pretty simple to remove, but I have never looked into removing the ignition on my 954, so it could be a little more difficult on the newer bike. Another option would be to call a locksmith, but that might end up costing you more than it would to go into the dealership with the ignition cylinder...

That's what I was afraid of, well you can call a locksmith to do the work, but with the bars being locked I'm almost positive that the ignition cylinder is stuck in there too...kind of an anti-theft sort of thing so someone can't just pop it out if they try to steal it with the bars locked.

RE: Lost only key...
I took the "trunk" cylinder out in hopes someone could do something with that but my local honda dealers are worthless. One couldn't find the code in the books.(probably cause its not the right code or something?) Anothers key cutting machine is broken. And finally the last place tried to tell me they didn't make the 954 in 2003...And none of them have blanks in stock. What a day.[sm=icon_flaming.gif] I'm taking it to a locksmith tomorrow..Maybe he will have better luck.
