key wont turn ... wtf
So the ignition fork lock is STUCK. the key will not turn!
i went to visit family for a few days, came back and key wont turn.
apparently this is somewhat common to have the tumbler/pins get stuck and eventually bend with force ect ... just curious if anyone has had this problem with their 954, and if so how did you remedy the problem?
Im nervous because the forks are locked and it sounds like i might have to dissasemble the entire front end to remove the lock. if this is true im liable to freak out and break something
FU*K!!!
help please ohh might 954 members!!!

Never had that problem, have u tried wiggling the forks while pushin down and turning? also try pushin the clip on all the way to the frame as much as possible.....thats the best advice as far as tryna get it to budge....ive never had a lockin problem.
I dont know the answer but mine has been acting up lately as well.......key is hard as hell to turn sometimes and I end up pushing up and down and wiggling it and it will turn(so far anyway).

yeah mine was doing that too off and on LUBE IT NOW!
WD-40 or somekind of penetrating lubricant. watch out for your paint and gauges though.
screw with it for a while.. you have to push the key down a little bit and turn .. if not.. it's not that hard to take front apart and get ignition off but you do need a different tool to get the ignition bolts out
i actually just went out for a smoke and gave it the good ol college try and it came free!!
looks like a day of sitting with some penetrating lube did the trick, turns like butter now.
wow what a relief, thanks for the help you guys - now go lube your shiat!!

Dont use WD40. The lube that is supposed to be in there is a petroeum and the WD will actually clean it out. They have specific lock lube or you can use just about anything else. I have some tingling minty lube that you could use, but the bottle is a bit sticky... My bad.
