Default How much would you pay for an 02 954rr with engine damage?

As the title says guys, there's a local guy selling an 02 954rr with engine damage. The guys wants $1400, he says he wants $1000 today and tomorrow only. The post has been up for about 1 month and he hasnt sold it. What do yoh guys think its worth? It has a yoshi slip on and cracked windscreen, and a missing seat. Is this a good deal or not?

Im not looking for a bike, but I've heard alot of good things about this bike and I've always seemed to look at them yet I saw this one and it looks like a good project but the 954rr is like 1k itself. Let me know what you think. It was bought in an auction so I have to check the title aswell and make sure its not salvaged, if it were about how much you think its worth?

Heres a picture of the bike.

Heres what he put on the post.

AS IS $1,000! Just for today and tomorrow. AS IS

For sale 2002 cbr 954. Engine damage, NOT Running. Motorcycle bought in an auction for $2,900 + fees. Just wanted out of garage. First come first served. If you have one of this engines or a 929 or can rebuild the engine this bike is for you. I dont have the time, money or interest. I'm asking $1,400.

Good tires, good frame-is not bend or anything. Side fenders are not cracked. Front windshield is cracked, missing seat.

Its worth it! You can get a engine on ebay for a 1k. If nothing else you can always part it out and make money on it....

Okay guys, just confirmed it is a salvaged title. The guy says he has never tried to crank it himself but a mechanic looked at the bike and says it makes alot of noise when started. What do you guys think its worth?

Do these bikes have a recall on something? Heck maybe its the cam tensioner and this guy doesnt even know it. He seems to not know anything about bikes.

When you are buying a crashed bike the main thing is if everything is streight on it! The most important thing is the frame! Make sure that the frame is stright... And what that guy is telling you that bike is noisey when it starts does not mean anything it can be a simple thing as loose coil or it can be extensive as destroyed engine... Ask him how it rides or better yet take it for a test ride... And only recall it had was something with the stock exhaust ...

Thanks for the info stunter, the guys as you can see says that everything is straight. He also said that they just turned it on, didnt even move it, so taking it for a spin is out of the question. He claims it needs a rebuild o a new engine. What do you think its worth? I mean in his eyes the bike is no good. In mine ofcourse it is, but question is how much would I end up paying for a bike like this.
