How do I remove the direct ignition coils from the spark plugs?
Hey guys. I am having a hard time getting my direct ignition coils off from the spark plug. I have removed the coil plugs but am unable to remove the coils from the plugs themselves. I've tried to maneover and the still will not budge. Is there a special tool I need or do you just continue to pull at them until they come off. I need help. I'm sure someone out there has changed their plugs. Please help!!!!!

I have the connectors off but cannot get the actual coils that sit on to of the plug off. I have tried pulling them off with no luck. So your saying all that I need to do is continue to pull at them? What happens if I break one of them?

i c, ya just get as far down on the coil you can and pull.. they have most likely never been changed so they are seized on there pretty good but yes just pull.. i dont think you will break one, worse case you have to replace on, then you will have a excuse to replace all 4 which wont hurt but i wouldn't worry about breaking the coil.. just get a good grip and pull

Can I spray some lube on them or is that not a very good idea? Yes you are right the plugs have never been changed. It says you can put 32K on the plugs before you need to change them in the manual. I think that is bull**** and I know I will get better performance with new plugs on. Going to change them every season I think. I will continue to work at it and keep you updated. Thankx bobjoe
