I haven't cut the stock exhaust, my bike had a micron slip-on on it when I got it but I did cut that in half. Didn't really take long to do, maybe 30 mins max. And I was worried it was gonna be too loud but it sounds great. In the micron exhaust there was a screw in the end cap, took that out then took the cap off. Cut the can than I cut the baffle inside to match than had a friend to weld it back.

I just got back from a ride and it ran good except for slight hessitation above idle.I dont have my power commander hooked up right now,so once I do I'll take it out again and see how it runs. All bikes will benifit from a custom tune.Try it if you dont like it then get it tuned right.

Ha ha Letsride-
i cant tell how long yer can was cause it goes on right off the edge of your picture!!
the short can looks good- ive been asking about exhaust mods myself lately and have picked up that any mod should be followed by tuning
BUT were assuming that our bikes are running at optimal now.
If weve never had them tuned /jetted a/f calibrated etc...
we should do it anyway new can or no.
-FAST RR, what do you mean when you say you cut the baffle? are you just talking about the inner pipe inside the wadding ? or did you have walls inside that constricting exhaust flow? (what i thought baffles are)
i do apreciate that you guys arent afraid to chop up expensive s*** and make it your own. some gugs are afraid of applying their own decals . haha
but seriously itd be great to know what kind of power change might arise from these mods. best o luck!
