So the other day I took my plastics off my 2003 954 and realized the egcv was just hanging. The cables were still attached but it was literally hanging from the actually bracket that makes the metal part in the exhaust turn. I pushed it back in and replaced the missing bolt on it and lined it up at the 9oclock position. Started the bike. Revved it up and it moved at the 3000 rpm mark upwards and downwards at around 7000rpm . But now when I ride the bike it literally stutters for a split second now at those rpm ranges. Almost feels like vtec kicks in(any of you old school Honda guys might know what i mean) is this normal? I've never noticed it and maybe this has been disconnected for a while and I just never knew.... or do you guys notice some sort of sputter at those rpm ranges when the egcv valve actually turns???
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks everyone who takes their time to respond!!!
If the htev is not adjusted properly it can cause a hesitation. Is the flapper removed from the airbox and the cable running from the airbox to the servo motor also removed? This will help if the servo motor is weak or the gears are worn inside the servo.
