I understand your frustration. Post pics of the bulb and housing. Hopefully they didn't send the wrong bulb. You ordered a H7 right. I'm waiting on DDM kit to come in also. Post pics and we got ya

As the walkthrough above shows you may have to trim the ends off of the plug that goes behind the H7 bulb.

I believe thats the problem you are running into.

I bought the DDM kits for all 3 lights on my 954. You could try building up a couple of rings of electrical tape around the bulb housing then trim it a little at a time to fit. Or you could go to the hardware store and try to find a washer that's the correct size and glue it in the correct position.

Does the H7 bulb in the ddm kit not just plug into the stock housing? I bought a 3000k kit, but i'm going to put the 3000k bulb in my buell like this guy did and use the 6k from my buell on the honda.

The DDM Kit fits directly its just if you have a spacer on the back of your stock bulb you have to trim the edges of the adapter that comes with the kits so it sits flush.
It takes less then 30 secs.

The oil from your fingers can heat up on te bulb and create a hotspot on after prolonged use it can burn out the bulb

I did my HID install last night, and I used a regular H7 HID Kit, do motorcycle's require a special HID kit, because today my bike was burning something near the tail under the seat.....?
