*help* overheated?
so during the summer i got my bike and didnt know much.... but how to ride, and while some friends and I went out for a ride some fuses blew and my clock didnt work wich is also the fan fuse, ** the guy had a bunch of the wrong fuses in it, im glad i check them all and put the right ones in but to late**....on our way back temp got to 300 degrees, now at this point i just shut off the bike and roll the rest of the way home, since then its been ruinning horrible and codes flash. Some guys say i could have warped the block and/or a sensor has gone out. any thoughts would help links to a code page, i looked but i have little time b4 work

300*!!!!!!??? i would have though the bikes got some kind of shut-off for overheating.... that sucks man. just post the codes here, people will tell ya what they mean. could also do a simple compression test on each of the cylinders just for piece of mind.
im really really hopeing its just a sensor, if i did cook it can i salv parts from the motor or should i just run it till it dies?
Run it till it runs no more. Be carefull though, you don't want the engine locking up on the hiway. Change the oil, it is definately ruined. You more than likely took out the head gasket and some bearings. I rplacement engine will run anywhere from 600-$1500.
When I ran my 954 on the track we removed the fans (they're back on now). My 600RR has no fans and we run 6 hour endurance races on it, high revs and the most I've ever seen was 240 (and it has plain water in it).
Check the codes, if you're lucky, you may only need to change the oil for sure, but also check the thermostat and water/coolant level!
