Default Have you always ridden a Honda ??

Reason I ask is because myself.... I'm a fan of many brands and not totally loyal to one. I've had a 1986 V-Max. I've also owned a 1985 Kawasaki Eliminator 900. A 1989 GSXR-750 Slingshot. A 1991 FZR 1000. Oh yeah a 1985 Yamaha Maxim 700. But then I found Buell's. Quirky bike a blast to ride. I bought a brand new 2000 Cyclone and converted it to a 98 S1W custom of sorts. Then my wife started to ride webought a Blast for her. After a couple years the XB series came out.... had to have one. Bought a new 2004 Buell XB12S and a XB9S for the wife. The 12 turned into a total custom and was a magazine bike twice...... called the Last Laugh. The name is a story all its own.lol Then when HD shut Buell down I found that I was losing interest and sometimes parts that I could get over counter was now a order item I felt the need to move on. Thats when the 954 and the wifes 600rr came in. So what did you guys have??? what was most memorable ??? I'd say my Buell's were but don't get me wrong I love the Honda. Any pic you can share??? I gotta find a few of mine I mostly have pics of my Buell's because they were more recent.

Then a friend sold me his 2009 Aprilia RSVR Factory...this was my most cherished and memorable bike...but due to personal reasons, i had to let her go...

Then got myself a 2007 Suzuki GSXR 600...

And finally, i sold the gixxer and found myself a Honda CBR 954. I've always liked the look of the 954 even though its the oldest model bike i've owned. It has a timeless look, and can still handle itself well with the latest bikes out there. My plan is to keep this bike for awhile and slowly put some upgrades...a "take my time project"...LOL.

Let's say i've come full circle...LOL

No, I've been a Yamaha fan ever since I took their learn to ride course with my parents when I was 15.

The only reason I bought a Honda is because the '08 1000RR was on sale for less than $7k at one point and it won the superbike shootout in '08 and '09. With a combo like that it was hard to pass up.

Many of members here have the luxury to ride/own multiple bikes...for some of us, get the first one can be very challenging...financially.

If money was not an issue....trust me, there are many other bikes we love to own. But FWIW....Honda is THE best option out there on reliability and cost....

As for myself, HONDA & YAMAHA.....

i've had suzuki gs500 (one of the funnest bikes to ride the **** out of), and i really regret breaking her down and parting her out. she was easy to fix, ran great and pulled hard for a 500 parallel twin

ive had a yamaha xs650, the wife wanted it, i thought i would love it, and i've seen some real cool ones out there, but i ended up not liking it. it could have been just that bike though. it never really handled right - ever. even after clubman bars, better tires, etc.

i had an f3, and i absolutely adored that bike. it ran like a champ. but a fork boot snapped where the caliper was held on - and with rashed fairings, it was worth less than $300 at the dealership, so i parted her out too.

i rode a friends (fraternity brother) SV650 for a while, it was a pretty fun bike, i would own one

as well, i rode another fraternity brothers xb9s. i really wasn't too impressed. i was expecting it to have more power, it broke down on him a lot (it even snapped a drive belt). and my f3 would pull on him fairly easily, but i did think it handled pretty well (even with it being sprung for a rider 130lbs when i was 200lbs). a lot of parts vibrated off of it (mirrors, clutch perch came loose). i do love the looks of it. and i'd like to ride one again.

damn bads1, i like the paint on last laugh. i knew you did paint work, but man, that's really impressive! great stuff man

My first bike was a 1992 Kawaski ZX-11. I was hit 11 days later by a lifted Chevrolet Silverado 2500 which totaled the bike. Used the money to take of some bills I had at time and bought a 1995 Honda CBR 600F3. Kept it for 2.5 years and sold it to buy my dream bike which is my 2002 Honda CBR 954RR. I've had it since September 2010 and have no plans of getting rid of it. I also purchased a 1985 Honda Shadow VT700 but sold it about a year later because I wasn't comfortable on it.....go figure lol. I have primarily had Honda's, but I'm not strictly a one brand motorcycle type of guy. I really want one of the new BMW 1000rr's but I don't have that kind of cash flow for a bike right now lol. I also want a Harley bobber to cruise around town on.
