Default Gap Between Lower Fairing

Hello,

I'm a new CBR 954RR owner with a quick question. I recently purchased an '02 954RR that had been tipped over on the right side. Based on what the previous owner stated and the scratches on the right lower fairing, the bike looks like it was knocked off the kick stand. As I was going through the bike and cleaning it up, I noticed the right side engine case was pressed against the foam on the back of the right lower fairing.

Is this normal on the 954RR?

I'm wondering if the brackets for the right lower fairing are bent. Any advice would be appreciated.

Mine is the same. They are a close fit to begin with.

You got really Lucky! Thats one of those fast version 954's. The body panels on these things are all tight fits. Its normal. If the previous owner did in fact have to replace the fairing and the foam behind it. Its just being broke in. Nothing to worry about!

Gents,

Thanks for the replies.

After a five-year absence, it's great to get back on a bike. I'm looking forward to easing back into it with a nice Saturday morning ride.

Best Regards,
