Gadget mounting: radar detector, GPS, Android?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for ideas on locations and hardware to mount a Valentine 1 to my 954. I have a Scott steering damper on the bike, so I don't think I can use the TechMount stalk that slides into the hole in the triple tree.
If any of you have mounted a radar detector (or other gadgets), I'd love to see pictures and links to mounting hardware. I have a direct wire with an inline fuse to run to the battery for the RD, but I'd love to see where others have mounted their gadgets. Ultimately, I'd like to have the Valentine and my Android (for music and GPS, not phone) mounted, but I'm not sure if I can find enough room!
Thanks in advance!

how exactly would a radar detector work when its on the bike??? i assume you wouldnt hear it beep at speeds that ud need it with all the wind, and that would be kinda distracting to have to look down at the detector to see it blinking for a certain radar being detected. is there something im missing?

Yeah I know the sounds of the bike now. I'm at that point where I'm hearing sounds that make me wonder if something is normal, like "extra" noise on startup when it's really cold outside
But I'm not sure I'd trust suction to hold an expensive piece of electronics. I'm leaning more toward a RAM mount or something similar. But there's not a lot or space in the cockpit, and I won't do anything that effects the turning radius.
