Default Fuel Light

I was wanting to know when the indicator light actually came on. I don't have an owners manual so I don't know how much fuel I have left whether it be 1/8 of a tank or so many miles at a decent speed...I'd just like to know so I can push the limits a lil bit. Thanks Guys

Depending on how I ride, and if it's in the city vs. open roads, mine usually comes on somewhere between 130-160 miles. Once it comes on you have about 2-25 more miles depending on your riding. It's usually a smart idea to start looking for gas once it comes on, you're pretty low.

Once I see the light I fill up within about 15-20 miles on slow riding. I almostalways see 135 miles before the light comes on... I've never gotten more than 150 miles on a tank, but then again I've never ran out of gas...

0.9 gallons when light comes on.. so 20-30 miles depending how you ride

bring the revs down..... you might be running a little rich but 100 miles isn't horrible at the reserve light...

Same here, basic commuting speeds my light turns on at 140-145. I always get gas now about 140-170, But I have run her dry at 190, and when she goes dead you have about an exit ramp till she is DONE giving you a sign. I get a steady 40-41 MPG though, in fact I haven't gotten much worse even when I go out and fly for the day. I live in the land twisties, straights are a rarity so punching it usually mean you didn't do the corner correctly so the bike is rarely flogged. 70-130mph all day and almost 40 mpg everytime, DidI mention I LOVE THIS BIKE!!

bobjoe, you mentioned i may be running a bit rich. There is no power commander or anything on the bike. What can I do to get it back to normal? I would like to have optimal gas mileage without sacrificing power.
