fork help

Default fork help

so i had buddy of mine replace my fork seals and oil...no i just noticed theres a small amount of oil comming out of the top of the fork. also when you spin the top to softin or hardin i dont here it click into place anymore...and the forks always seem to go soft after a ride. i basically have to have it almost all the way hardend and keep re-setting it. any help would be great.

Did he fill the forks with proper fluid and amount?

fluid level or the proper weight? something is off. where is the fluid coming from on top of the fork? pics

yea i dont even know how you would go about putting our forks back together a wrong way. gotta be somethin with the fluid like everyone else mentioned.

I know its the right oil and he put 17.3 ounces of fluid in i believe thats what the manual said. I was told theres some o rings and seals up top that maybe need to be replaced. I'll take a pic tomorrow to show you guys, prob gonna be hard to see cause theres only a small amount commin threw....somethings def wrong though.

Check the upper fork o rings might be damaged.As far as oil level it has to be 73mm from the top of the fork leg fully compressed and no spring in it.Also check if the damper rod is fully seated on the fork top bolt.Did he bleed the forks?I just did mine and you have to check all that to make sure it's all good.What weight oil did you use?

Not really,just remove the fork bolt,pre load bolt and remove spring.Remove wheel,front fender.Lift fork leg by hand to check your level and set.Reinstall everything

How do you bleed the forks? im pretty sure that didnt get done.

To bleed the forks all you have to do is cover the top of the fork leg with the palm of your hand and pump the fork leg.You can also pump the damper rod while on the bike.You only have to remove the forks to drain the old fluid and replace the fork seals.
