Does the tire hold air now? Use soapy water to see if you can find any leaks at the 42psi and then try it again with lower and higher pressures to see if you can force the leak.

try to find the flat, if it is the tread area it can be patched but me personally do not like to risk something like that, i would try to find the problem and then determine if u should buy a new tire.. take it to tire shop if need me, then keep it as a spare till get new tire

You know what? The same thing happened to me on a pilot a while back. I was riding on I-20 and caught a flat right in the groove. The tire only had 800 miles on it. I was pissed. I practiced my burnouts on it, then replaced it.

maybe someone let all the air out [:@]

before replacing see if it holds air and like don said use soapy water (a spray bottle works great) and if you have a rear stand it will be even easier

That's what I was thinking, maybe an ex-girlfriend or pissed off neighbor that has to listen to you ride when his wife has him driving the mini van.

Try different air pressure to see if it's a small leak that only leaks when it's at/near a certain psi. For example, holds air at 35 psi and only leaks when you warm the tire up while riding.

Check the valve stem I just had one cut on me, beats the hell out of me on how you cut it but it was ? ? ? ? also if you have a mad x check the needle valve inside easy to let the air out and it will leake under a load if it is loose.

Yeah, remove and inspect the valve core. Bit of grit can be the cause.

Otherwise, plugging the tyre anywhere other than the sidewall is a reliable solution if done by a pro. We have guys who've gone on to wear their tyre out while plugged.

I rode 6000 miles on a plugged dunlop... I just had to replace it two months ago and rode it for almost the entire first year I owned the bike. Never lost air pressure once.

Use to use the big red tractor tire gummyplugs on my quadzilla when I would pick up a nail or two.Things would never come out, tires could be bald as a babies butt and them plugs would still bein there!
