Hey guys im a noob to the 954 i've only had it for a week now, but theres something funny
about my exhaust tone. Dont know if it's common or not but when im riding in mid RPM and let off or if you
rev the engine theres a rasping noise, like something lose. Oh and the bike is all stock, thanks...

I have experienced the same thing.. usually about 8k RPM when decelerating.. I attributed this to the HTEV changing positions. I did not worry about this at all and the sound changed when I added my PCIII. BTW, I have Erion Racing exhaust on my bike. I don't think you have to worry about this sound.

I doubt that your HTEV is loose. You are probably over analyzing things because you are new to this bike. Try to find someone in your town that has a 954 and meet up with them. This would be your best bet for questions about noises. You can search this forum for 954 riders in Maine or maybe try finding people on craigslist or meetup.com
Good luck and welcome to the sickest bike you'll own!
* side note, get used to this bike before you start adding a bunch of useless ebay junk to it. *

People give me really strange looks then I have my snowboard strapped to the back of my bike... It's fun to ride in the snow and a bike can get me to the lodge much quicker... I suppose they just don't know how to ride in the snow.. studded tires. Duh!! Oh, and I hooked up the two wheel drive unit. Got it on eBay..
