Looks like i have a 4th gear bent shift fork. Does anyone know if i have to remove the engine and split the case, or can i do this with the engine still in the bike?

As far as I know the 1000RR is the only one with the "cartridge" type tranny. Ya might wanna PM Limpy -- he's prolly got a manual laying around.

I had the same problem with mine. It's a total tear down to get the tranny a part. If you bike has higher milage them you might consider just buying a used motor with low miles, thats what I did. I found a complete motor with 1,500 mile for $1,200. not sure of your situation though.

yeah that's what i should do considering i have 11,200 miles and it is gonna cost me about $1,000 to get it fixed anyway. Anyone know of 954 engines for sale? I checked on ebay but i am not sure of buying a motor on there!!

Hey Josh i just talked to donnie from chicago and he does have a 954 engine. He remebered you to and said he thinks you had tranny problems too. Being the way things are these days i do not want to get ripped off. He seems straight forward and seems like an honest guy but i don't want that to fool me. Would you buy from this guy again?? I am just trying to protect myself from wasting $1250! Just being cautious. Thanks in advance.

Consider using a third party escrow company like escrow.com if there is any questions thay hold the product and inspect it then tell you when to pay thay hold the payment and all that so everyone is safe, Thay cost some though.

Maby the guy is safe and all that too.
