I have seen 5 different 929-954 engines around 25k that have gouges in the cylinder walls. I just wonder how common this really is before I waste my money trying to rebuild my 954rr. Is it worth the rebuild or should I be looking for another step? And does the 1000rr share this same issues?

 

Not all, engines that arent looked after no matter what vehicle will do this. My 929 has over 70k miles and is used only for track now

 

You also got to figure in bad regular maintenance at some point had something to do with it also.
