Default Devil Slipon for the 954?

Here's the deal, I have a Yoshimura TRS bolt on currently on my 954, it sounds ok but nothing like my previous YZF 1000 Thunderace which was running a Devil. The Devil was quiet at idle but sounded superbb while being revved.
This morning I have come across a good deal on a Devil magnum slipon, and was wondering if this would be distinctly louder and much deeper than the bolt-on TRS.
Here's the slight twist to the good Devil deal though, the seller says the slipon is a universal kit and can be used on all motorcycles, atleast mostly, and even if the slipon pipe does not fit in perfectly, a slight alteration will not make a difference. Now is this the real deal?

Only if the TRS was a slipon I wouldn't have had to btoher will the exhaust huntig, my friend's f4i with a slipon TRS sounds extremely nice.

Cool

I dont think devil makes 'universal' cans. Probably, its just a can from a GSXR or a ZXR, and you need to modd your bolt on flange. Means that you have to drill holes that line up with the Devil. I have had a magnum on my t'cat, and was pleased about the sound.

But, if i may give you some advice: Sell you TRS on here, or on ebay, save some money and get the new Twobrothers M2 or M5. I got mine 5 inches shorter (out of the factory) and am very pleased with the sound! Its brutal!

Infact I had a Devil SB2 on my previous bike, the Thunderace too. Quiet at low revvs and quite loud once opened up!
Is it a good idea to cut short my current Yoshimura TRS exhaust? I have machining backup, so that mostly isn't an issue to finish it up.
But does cutting it require any serious calculations, would it effect the valves or anything sooner or later?

Nah it doesnt make a real difference in performance or anything, not as far as we would notice. Maybe if you have a custom PC III map and a full exhaust system, but you dont!

What you could do is cut it, but make sure you cut it nice and clean (ive seen so many f*cked up shorty's) and dont cut it too short... beter cut twice than cut it once way too far! Id say -5 inches off is perfect
