Default D&D carbon can shorty

After seeing TK's cutdown Jardine, I am thinking of doing the same to my D&D. I am thinking of taking 6-7 inches out of it. I was curious if anyone else had done this with a D&D. It is already loud. I was wondering if it would be borderline rediculous? Also, is there problems with carbon fiber splintering or fraying due to the cutting?
Thx

I did it with a polished D&D can, and yes its LOUD lol. I havent cut a CF one yet, but use masking tape and a sharpe blade and it shouldnt splinter much.

How tough was cutting the carbon? I've been thinking about chopping my 2bros but don't feel like assing it up if the carbon shreds.

The carbon will hold up fine. I masked mine off and cut it with a sawsall. Just make sure you take an end off first and remove the packing and screen, then the carbon will cut like butter.

TK is right. I used a new 32T carbon hacksaw blade and it cut very smooth. I did not use masking tape and no splintering. I am putting it back on the bike this afternoon. Step outside around 1:00 CST and you can hear it

Oh. it ain't like I don't have the tools, got a full wood and metal shop, I plan on running that bad boy through the metal bandsaw, just like butter. I've cut down cans before too, and I've read about the masking tape trick. The process I'm sure of, I've just never seen pictures of the "end result"
