Default Coolant Leak .... I think ?

Bit confused about this, i have not taken the bike out that much due to the weather but on two occasions now i have found a small pool of coolant on the floor of the garage and when i have taken both panels off i have found that behind the radiator (on the left hand side if your sitting on the bike), about half way up, near the edge... its wet ! So last night i took it for a quick run to get the temp up and the fluid flowing and then parked it up on its side stand and then on its Abba stand..... no leaks for both, and the area that was wet is now dry..... my overflow tank is about mid way between lower and higher.

I had a radiator guard fitted when i had the bike serviced (and all the coolant changed and the hoses taken off to change tarnished bolts), and i have now noted that the thin steel wire either side of the radiator guard has gone through the very thin ' fins ' on the radiator... could this be the problem, and if so, why is it not leaking now i have just come back from a ride (well last night). Over the next few days i will put it back on its side stand and vice versa and try and see if there is any coolant present, with both panels being off i think i should be able to detect it. Anybody else had this '' catch a leak '' type scenario ? Thanks.

i had a small leak once where the radiator hose met the radiator. you won't necessarily see it leak while running or just after. i threw another clamp on it and it sealed it up just fine. you should be smelling coolant if though if there is a leak.

That would make sense if it was anywhere close to the hose or the clamp but its not, its really more into the radiator and when i put my hand on the hose it was bone dry.

Is it possibly a pin-hole caused by road debris? You might consider having the
radiator pressure-tested. Weird that it seems 'cured' right now. If you aren't
experiencing heat issues, I'd recommend...just continue monitoring and regular
coolant checks, to see if it continues or becomes more obvious.

which side of the radiator? front or rear. why did they tie your radiator guard with wire? they should have tied it with zip ties.

When your sat on the bike its the left hand side and the guard came with very thin stainless steel wire, i think zip ties would have been a bit too thick

no, check the level under the radiator cap, it should be completely full. if its a radiator leak, thats where you'll see the level go down

Right, so just unscrew the silver cap on the right hand side (as your sat on the bike) and it should virtually full or just below the brim ???
