How often do you clean your air filter?I had dumb miles on my k&N fillter and even though i had the bike apart a couple times I never bothered cause it looked clean..Well I finally cleaned it and there was alot of dirt that came out i couldnt believe it.So get in there clean those filters even if it looks clean.

 

K&Ns are supposed to be able to go 50,000 before cleaning, according to the box, but i would clean it more like every 5000-10000. I always clean it when i buy the bike(along with new plugs, FI cleaner, fresh oil, all the little things) and so far have never kept a bike long enough to have to clean it again, usually get a differnt bike every couple months.

 

Im guessing i had 15000k worth of grit in it...i just changed the plugs and installed a different map along with the filter clean has bought my baby some joy...

heh yea, used to just do it to make money, make a grand or so off each bike and always have something fun to screw around on. But i dont have the time to shop and sell anymore, and i love this 954 so i think im going to stick with it for a while!

TK how often do you change your oil? seems like you would go through a lot of K&N recharge kits if you change oil like i do.

Oil change every 2k whether it needs it or not. I also have 2 other vehicles with k@n's, but you dont need a lot of cleaner or spray if you dont let it get that dirty . I also get the kit for like 4 bucks so............

 

Where you get the kits so cheap at? mines gettin low and it cost $15 at the local stores around here

 

Well my shop usually does about 8-10 grand a month with **** auto parts, so as their biggest customer they take really good care of my personal needs
