Do these pair valves have o-ring type gaskets or do I need some new rtv sealant? Mine seams to always dry up no matter what I do!
|
I used RTV sealant when I did mine.
|
Ok, stupid question. Can I just unplug the pair valve to eliminate the decel popping? Is it an electronic valve? If it operates on engine vacuum, then can't I just unplug the hose from the bottom of the air box and block off the hose and air box nipple? I'm trying to reduce popping with the least amount of effort.:icon_doh:

I'm guessing the solenoid is open when disconnected. I tried disconnecting it and the exhaust still popped with a mid rpm rev.
|
Nevermind! I put a marble in the pair valve feed tube and problem solved! Does anyone want to buy some block off plates for $20 shipped? I'm not going to install them now, I just wanted to get rid of the popping.
I swear it is idling a little lower now, possible? |
I made a short video after adding the marble to the air box feed tube (which is just behind the right side air scoop cover). It seems to smoke more now, must be all that unburnt fuel.:icon_shrug:
Anyway, I rev'd to about 5-6-maybe 7k and it would pop every time I let go before the marble. Exhaust is Leo vince sbk high mount, cut down 6 inches. I also just repacked it using moose racing silent sport and some stainless steel mesh. I stuffed almost a whole 450g back in there and it was noticeably heavier than the stock packing.:icon_wink: It sounds like something is vibrating after each rev, any ideas? YouTube - ‪MVI 0154‬‏ |
Moosestang, what type of block ofF plates are you getting rid of? I'm interested in them
