Default change plugs or leave alone?

I have read a couple of postings about 954's blowing out spark plugs. Should I just leave them alone? Mine is at 13K miles and I'd like to change, but seems a little risky. Bike runs like a raped ape, but I think the OEM recommendation is 12K on the plugs. How common is this problem?

i haven't heard of this prob to much.. but 13k on it.. change it when u got some time... change with the stock NGK but go to a auto parts store u will save 9 bucks a piece on spark plugs... they are about 9-10 at the store... almost 20 at the dealership

I say do it before they do go bad cuz one day when you have a hard time starting your bike and its really nice outside youll wish you were riding not messing aroud with spark plugs. Happened to me after i had a bike stored..... On the other hand that bike was an R6. I'd still do it just to be safe it's really easy.

dont mean to hijack the thread but, do bikes like hot or cold plugs... i changed out all 16 spark plugs on my hemi and used iridiums and LOVE them but, what is recommended on the 954's motor?
