Can't engage steering lock?
I just got this bike and the only problem so far is the steering lock doesn't work. It feels like it wants to click over, but needs to turn a little further. The triple tree is on the frame stops though.
Any ideas?
Also the front brake reservoir has spider web type cracks in it. Does anyone make an aftermarket reservoir? I can't find anything doing a search.

you try wiggling the bars a little bit when they are touching the frame stop? i know mine have to slightly be off the stop. you try turning the bars to the left correct, lol? if all else fails spray some kind of lubricant into the lock or on the key and turn it a few times and see if it loosens anything inside the mechanism.
Are you pressing down on the key as you turn it to the left?
It looks stock to me and yes, I'm pushing down on the key when turning. Maybe someone broke the steering lock, but I'd think it would still turn, just not lock.
If the key turns in the ignition and it tries to engage. then its the Lock mechanism itself. It sounds like someone manhandled it and tried to break it with shear force. (Just grabbing the bars and turning)
I never thought to try locking it to the right until I googled steering lock doesn't work. Sure enough it locks right in if the bars are turned to the right.
What is that all about? I just naturally turn the bars to the left because my kick stand is on the left. I wonder if my other bike will lock to the right?

most people just go left because of the kickstand like you said. when you go to the right it kind of stands the bike more straight up compared to the left i think, increasing the chance of it tipping over. or atleast thats what i think, either way itll work for ya, its no big deal
