Can it be lowered 4inches
Hey everyone. I am pretty new to this but help me out.
I got this bike for xmas and i am new but new to riding. I am a little under 5ft, 4"113/4" to be exact. I recently purchased a lowering link for the bike and it says it can be lowered up to 4". I am hoping that is will do the job. The bike I was riding before a 97" 600CBR had to be lowered and it only went down if 2". I need some advice basically for some short riders. Give me some handling tips something to make my ride not only run but safe. |
RE: Can it be lowered 4inches
I would get some custom riding boots made.
Ones that would add some HT. in the sole of the boot by a few inches. Just a thought........ |
RE: Can it be lowered 4inches
Don't know about 4", but I'm guessing it's possible. My cousin Steve's 954RR (photo attached) is lowered 3" and it doesn't adversely affect his handling (so he says). Just remember to have the bike stand cut accordingly. Good luck.

RE: Can it be lowered 4inches
I really don't do much street riding. Just to get to the the interstate.
I actually have been riding it without it being lowered and have to do some shifting to the left pretty quick but I must make sure i keep my right foot on the peg or the bike will lean and then fall. Being I only weigh a little under 140. |

If you never plan on turning, or running over any dips in the road - you should be fine - but really - don't do it.
