Default Buying 954

Here's the bike I'm looking at.

http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/mcy/1019169333.html

6610 miles and (going off what the seller told me) never been down with a rub on the rear sticker where the helmet rests when locked to the seat.

Oil changed once a year and probably still has the stock tires, with no major service done to it.

I want to offer 4500 (which I think is still too much considering how old it is) so what do you think of that offer?

Are there any 954 specific problems I should look for (test ride is impossible due to snow) or know about, like the CCT on the f4i?

from the looks of the ad and the pictures it seems like a clean bike. personally if you offered me 4500 i would tell you to go fly a kite, its 4950 or nothing.

that doesnt mean dont try but if that guy as any brains at all he will not budge much on the price.

The age of the bike really has nothing to do with it....i just got mine in late june 5,600 miles when i got it....i paid 5,495, And i think it was worth every penny. Best thing i ever spent money on, and thats the truth!!!

I have been looking for 2 months this is a pretty good price. I havent seen many for less than $5000 that were in good shape. I would offer 4500 but would end up paying the full amount if you have to.

I picked up my 03 about a month ago for 4200.00 with 3700 miles. Basically stole it from the guy. I was willing to go up to 5000.00 but he took the first offer.....Rear sets, Hindle, sliders, tinted wind screen, cowl, and all original parts included, pitbull stand, and enough for 2 oil changes.....definate steal.

^ That's what I thought with the color scheme but they're the same bike so I didn't hold that against the guy.

I'm trying to sell my 02 and trying to get $5K for it. This 03 has a great color scheme.
