Does annnnyone know where to get an aftermarket 954 camshaft ? I know hrc Merion and a Japanese racing company made them but I can't find them anywhere . Also does anyone know if the 1000r camshaft are the same ? I'm doing a build and need to find some . Any help would be awesome !

i did get their re-grind. no idea on performance numbers yet. they took a little off the intake, but they take a lot of the exhaust - so i'm lookin' forward to getting it on a dyno

I would like to see the dyno numbers myself. What other engine mods did you do to go with the cams? They require high comp pistons which means a big expense to add these cams. I guess they figure most people are going with the 980 pistons if adding these cams.

Thanks guys . I'm going with webcamshafts. Seem to be the only ones I can find . I needed an engine rebuild . I the dyno and got 123 hp cylinders 2+3 were under 100 compression . Blah . So I'm doing same piston upgrade he did polish and ported head bigger injectors 2 lb nos bottle rock's headers devil racing exhaust bigger injectors k&n air filter. I'll let you know how it goes. Has anyone ever wrapped their headers and done a dyno before and after ? Thinking about but ink if it's worth all the effort

definitely worth the wrap. with a hi-compression piston, you'll be running even hotter than stock. as you know, the '54 while i wouldn't say it has cooling problems - it could run cooler. wrapping your exhaust will help the motor run a little cooler and it'll help your legs. it's cheap to do. i would hi temp paint your headers first (paint rated for 2000 degrees), then wrap, then hi-temp silicone spray your wrapped headers. all of that you can find at autozone or the equivalent.

the only advantages is that its more electronic so it'll be easier for me to use with my microsquirt set-up. they're a bit bigger - so that may help a little (only on top end though) and since my fighter set up is going to have a custom intake (plenum, trumpets, one-way inlet), i'll be moving much more air than stock - so the 1krr TBs might help a little more with that. but if your keeping your bike stock - it's not really worth it. i'm also cutting and welding my gas tank to help fit the 1krr fuel pump (fuel pressure regulated at the pump on 1krr instead of fuel rail in the 954).

Makes sense both ways I'll defiantly have to wrap them then . I'm getting an ignition module with the pc3 sub wouldn't that help it push more fuel anyway ? I'm trying to figure out a new way to get more air but I'm not looking to sacrifice tooooo Mich bottom end in the process .
