Default 954RR... should I buy?

Ok, looking for a little advice on this one from some of you who know these bikes a little better.

I found a titanium and black 954 with 16k on the clock with small upgrades for $3500, now whats wrong... the fairing stay is cracked, and the tank is dented, and one fork is "tweaked".

Now, this is what I find a rather odd is the tank is just dented, no road rash.. it looks like someone tried to make a stunt tank and it went wrong. The fairing stay is cracked but all the fairngs are fine.... So what I'm wondering is if they went down and replaced the fairings?

As far as the forks go I've got a full front end sitting in my garage already.

What do you think? worth it if I can talk him down to $3000 or $3200? I'm going to go take a look at it tomorrow.

IDK, last October I paid $3500 for a MINT 954 with only 9400 miles, and it came with a ton of extras. I have seen the listing prices of these things going up, but that doesn't mean they are going for that. I'm real **** with my stuff, I wouldn't touch a bike with "tweaked" fork and all you listed. If I had to buy it, I'd wouldn't pay more than $2500, that's just me.

Tweaked fork would put me off a bit, would definitely want to replace that. I got mine last fall for $3900 mint with extras. I'm with Starfire, show him $2500 cash and see what happens. Might go up to $3000, but start adding up everything you have to fix and keep that in mind when throwing out offers

tanks get dented all the time without hitting the deck... fairing stay will crack if from as something as simple as a bike tip over.

the fork - i would stay the hell away though.....

Ok, so I ended up picking up the bike. What the guy thought was a "tweaked" fork ended up just being a slightly bent clip on (already had a new set at home) and I got him down to 3k. So the only issues now is the stay bracket and the tank. He also does have it slammed and that's going to be going back to stock soon.

Here's a pic.

wrong side fairing

but don't buy the aftermarket fairing stays - they don't fit or work. they're the ones on ebay that are said to be stronger - they don't fit. don't waste your time - i know from expirience. you could brace it and epoxy it for the short term (when i bought mine, it's fairing stay was cracked and that's what i did) or buy an OEM one

glad the fork issue wasn't there.

good bike over all.
