Default 954 Problem

Hi! I don't know how to start..
I had an accident last year and I broke the stator cover and a little bit of the engine. I've replaced both parts, stator cover and the lower engine casing. Now, my problem is..the bike is starting, but it dies quickly after if i don't pull the throttle, no idle speed (if you know what i mean..i don't speak EN very well). My "rpm meter" shows exactly 5000 rpm, no matter what I do, full throttle or no throttle. The Fi light is always on, and the Oil light is blinking, on and on.
What seems to be the problem? Thanks!

The red light should be blinking in a sequence. It should blink slow, then fast, then repeat. This gives the error code. For instance, 3 slow blinks, then 5 fast blinks is error code 35. So...count the blinks and let us know. Count until they repeat their blink cycle.

One blink, 2-3 seconds pause, then blink again..the cycle repeats! Faulty MAP sensor?

possible. Make sure its plugged in securely, there is also a vacuum line that connects into the map sensor, make sure that is plugged in and routed correctly.

1 blink according to the Service Manual:
Loose or poor contacts on MAP sensor connector
Open or short circuit in MAP sensor wire
Faulty MAP sensor
Wrong connection between the MAP sensor and TP sensor connectors

YES! The Map Sensor was the problem!
I still have problems with my tachometer. Is showing 5000 rpm, no matter how hard I pull the throttle. Any ideeas?

Yellow/Green wire controls the tach. Goes from tach to ECU. Check connections and for wire breaks first. According to the manual, if you have a Peak Voltage Tester, it should read 10.5 V. If it reads at 10.5, then the Tach is bad. If below 10.5, ECU is bad, if 0, wire is broken somewhere.

Most likely loose wire in the back. Do you have a service manual?

Idle power is 7 V
pick is 9 V
Loose ground wire somewhere or ECU is bad? Speedo and the rest of the dashboard are working corectly.

I'd hope for the loose wire, though there are some other tests in the Service Manual. If you don't have one, you can download one from www.stephygee.com
