no way. there's nothing special about 954's that would make them more valuable in years to come. think about it, what comes to mind when you see an 1989 gsxr 750? do you think someone will pay more money for one of those than a new one? probably not. i mean, nicky hayden rc51's, smokin' joe f3's aren't even collector bikes, they cost a little bit more than the standard bike, but they're not going to be collector's
i dont ever want to get rid of my 954. i love it. if in 20 years, you see a prestine 954 still, i think that a lot of people will think that its cool that one made it that long, but i don't think that people are going to seek that as opposed to a newer bike.
that said, if someone had jake zemke's erion FX 954, i think that would is a collector's bike
i think it was on fireblades.org, but i saw this thread about this guy who had a lot of retired race bikes. he had a warehouse devoted to housing all of them. he had some from miguel duhamel, schwantz, etc. i bet he had to pay a pretty little penny for all of em.

there's nothin special about the 750 or the smokin joe's because they still make those bikes. the 954 was only made 2 years so i;m pretty sure there is no comparison there at all.

there's a reason they only made them for 2 years...
the 954 was obsolete before it even came out (as far as racing in anyting other than fx).
but ok, do you think a kawi zx9 will be a collectible? they dont make that anymore, does that compare? will you want one of those in 15 years?
just love the 954 for what it is. don't be delusional by thinking its a really special bike as far as the history of racing or motorcycles goes.
