Hi,
I'm wondering which would be better to buy an 05 06 1000 or the 954 or 929, any thoughts? thanks, why?

 

what have you ridden before, have you ridden all of those bikes.. it's you bike.. you have to figure that out they are all great bikes.. ride all of them most you can then make a decision

 

I chose the 954 because i thought it was more ergonomically friendly. But like Bob said its your bike, look around and see if you can sit/ride both of them before you make your choice, cant go wrong either way.

 

Go with the 06 1000. The bike is fast. Yes I own a 954 I love the bike but it is under powered. I dont know how you ride but if you have the money, best buy would be the 1000.

 

my 954 doesnt seem underpowered but I guess it depends on what your comparing it 2. I love my 954 but the new repsol replica 1000 for 07 is bad ***.

 

+1 exactly man... 954 isn't underpowered ... it has less power yes but not at all underpowered.

and another +1 for the repsol... I would take one!

 

comminf from a 929 guy, I prefer it if you're planning on doing any distance riding. The 954 seat is like a rock although the riding position is nice. The 1000rr is superb in the power and handeling dept but the riding position is a bit odd for me. The 929 fits me in every aspect and unless you've been riding for a while and you're riding with well expierenced riders the extra horsepower is just a bragging right. Get something that feels comfortable to you.

Compared to the 954 the 1000 has more of a sport bike crouch; needs revving higher and has a longer wheelbase. The latter improves its high speed handling thru sweepers but for tighter twisties the 954 is one of the best bikes of all time.
