Default are the 929 forks identical to the 954's?

I broke my left fork against the rear fender of a car (needless to say, the rest of the front is trashed as well, but first thing first). I was able to find a reasonably priced set of 929 forks, what are the chances they are identical?

Thanks//Bo

They are exactly the same all the way down to the wheel. Well except the 954 wheel is a little lighter, but its virtually identical.......I have an extra left fork in my garage, If u only need the left one.....=-)

I am positive that i do have the left fork in mint condition. And i also have a complete 954rr front end, but i'm saving the complete front end for my ole ladies F4i.... The extras are from my old track bike that i sold with a complete Ohlins suspension set-up on it. DID have the right fork also, but a fellow rider needed it, so i sold it to him....So that leaves the elft one in my garage....=-)

Dunno about another front axle. Well i do have a front axle on my extra front end. But as i said i plan on putting it on my ole ladies F4i.....I'll check again and dig around to see if maybe i have another in the shop or in some of my parts bins........Just not really sure on that....=-)

springs are shorter in 929 forks, lightly better adjusments for 954. 100%

I assume the spring is still intact in my left fork, so I could just replace it in the 929 casing?

you forgot about that little adjustment screw at the bottom- the 54 fork is a more modern design!!!

Yeah thats a really good point. But i was on the assumption that he is just a normal everyday rider like 90% of the peeps. Most peeps wouldnt know what to do with that extra screw anyways, LoL.....Im sure they will work in his case....=-)
