Default 600F4I vs. 954

I currently own a 2001 CBR600 F4I that is a fine ride on the twisties in the area. I was considering selling it and trying to find a nice '03 954. I was wondering if anyone on here has ridden both bikes and would care to comment. My other bike is an '05 Hayabusa so I don't think that I will be blown away by the power of the 954. I am curious if the 954 seating position is about the same as the F4I,what the wheelbase difference might be, powerand weight comparisons. Thanks in advance for your feedback and hope you have a good fall riding season.

I've ridden both...the F4i and the Hayabusa both weigh more than the 954 so the first thing you'll notice is how easy it is to flip the bike around them twisties... if you like it on the F4 you'll love it on the fiddy... as far as speed goes yeah you're right the Hayabusa will be plenty of power for your go fast toy, but the 954 is extremely fast... much faster than the F4 and definitely a bike that is to be reckoned with... I've walked on a busa or two in my day at the strip but then again that's all rider not the bike

Also, if this comes across as rude I'm sorry, but just out of curiousity, what's the point in having two sport bikes?

first of all.. seating is different, it's a little higher, and the pegs are higher on the 954, personally compared to the two, the f4i seating feeling is more like a cruiser ..
here are the specs of both

2002/2003 954's are the same bike..

Appreciate the feedback. Andrew, the reason I have 2 sportbikes in the garage is because I bought the 600 so my middle son and I could ride together but service in the military took him elsewhere. I find I enjoy the 600 on short rides and rode it on the dragon (which is only about 45 miles from my house) some before the cops shut it down. I enjoy the 'Busa for longer and fast rides like the Cherohala Skyway with my friend who rides a ZX-14. I have scratched my head some about having 2 sport bikes but have to admit that it is nice to have choices and they really are different types of bikes...

im not too sure about the flickabilty of the F4 vs 954 ... after riding my buddies R6 through some twisties the 954 feels like a hog ... heavy and no where near as "flickable"

with that said, i absolutely LOVE the 954, once you become acoustomed to the bike it will do everything and more then any new 600 ... including cruising 100s of miles/day.

so ... hurry up and buy one!

dude...the r6's and r1's were made for *******.....my ex bought a bike for this guy she was seeing before me...an 06 r6....i had to go track it down cause he tried to steal it and take off with it while it was in her name....i drove that bike home and theres no way a 954 is a hog compared to that *** machine...the seat alone on it widens ur *** cheeks to where the wing takes advantage of ur hole..i would take the 54 in any corner over a 6'er anyday..as for the f4i 2 a 54...i think you will like the 954 alot more man..it will be a good step up for you and all. i had a 01 black and silver f4i...it was ok...small....i am 6'2 220 so i made it look like a little toy...the 54 is alot better..

i had a 01 f4i for 2 years before it was stolen. now i have the 954 and i love it more than i thought possible! if you think the f4i is flickable you have no idea... i think that the 954 is almost jittery in the corners compared to the i. the extra power is a blessing too. if you can find one, get a 954!

954 is by far one of the best sport bikes ever engineered. Although i love my 03 European Edition alot, i'm sad to say that i wouldnt mind trading mine for an F4i. I use to enjoy riding street, but now i just dont enjoy it that much anymore. But yeah the 954 is a great bike with more than enough power. I put mine side my side with those Slozuki Gixxers all day long. And it really takes alot for those bikes to walk off and leave me. I'm geared -1 +2, so i have a little bottom and mid range advantage. Plus at bike night im one of 3 954's, but i have the only 03 954 and the only European Edition. So that makes it even more enjoyable. Those Slozuki's are like azzholes, everybody has one......=-)
