I just bought an '03 954rr (Titanium/Black) with 287 miles on it and was wondering if anyone knew how to get the back seat open if it gets stuck. The lock twists and everything but it doesn't pop open. Any ideas?

 

turn the key and pound on the middle front of the seat and it should pop open that is where the latch is

 

Nope, did nothing.

 

pull on it.. .. maybe the cable isnt attached, can u feel/hear it it might have snapped, i doubt it but could have happend

 

I've yanked on it quite a bit with no luck. We tried reaching up in there and cant find the release either. My guess is that the cable either broke on the latch end or came undone because all is well on the lock end.

 

Had some of the same problems, take the from seat off first and slide ur hand underneath the key lock and fell for the wire(its gonna hurt to do but do what u gotta, dont worry bout the plastic its abs its very flexable). like you said with pullin do it while your turning the key. take the 10 mm open wrench you can slide it where the bolts are on the passanger seat. it will still be locked but you can still pull up on the seat where it doesn't lock and you should be able to reach ur hand in there painfully and release it. Hope the advice helps

 

Alright I finally got around to getting that first part done so now I look like this:



Where the is release? I can't reach the gold thing in the back, my hands are too big. I tried using a wedge and that just pushed the gold further down. Any help?

 

I'd try removing the "frankenbolts" at the front of the seat. You should just be able to lift up the front of the seat and get to the lock this way... no finger crushing required...

 

The part by the lock is already unscrewed. My hands are too big to reach to the back.

 

TADA!!! I stole someone's idea from the forum to just take off the fender instead of buying an eliminator. Now all I gotta do is find a place to mount the plate once I get it (Title comes today, tomorrow, or monday.)
