Default 03 954 Stock vs 06 Kawasaki 1000RR

What mods need to be applied to compete with the Kaw/Zuk (Year 05-10). This is for the street not the track. I got one (Kawasaki 1000rr) that want a piece of the 954!!! Always want to run them, I have rode with him on a couple of occasions and I know he has something under the seat and the only mod I have is a 15/44 sprocket combo ( and still giving everybody hell). What else could I do to continue to represent for the "Honda Nation"!! Remember to always ride safe!!

Just curious you wasn't really clear in your first post. You HAVE a 954rr and you want to race a ZX-10 (I have no idea what a kawasaki 1000rr is. A hybrid maybe? lol). OK well the ZX10 is a damn fast bike and as alot of midrange power however, depending on the rider a few mods besides what you already hae done really isn't going to help that much. Maybe a good exhaust and PCIII with a custom tune. So run em the way you have your bike, if you lose you lose if you win you win. But that bike is heavier and has a stronger engine I think it will depend on the rider.
Now just get a 2008-10 cbr 1000rr that will do it. I'm going to go dream about one now.

Well, it if it was a zx-14, I would say mount a mirror on the side of your bike. That way, when the ugly sucker catches a glimpse of itself, it will turn to stone. Maybe you could put the 10r on a scale so it can cry like a bitch when it sees that it is almost 100 pounds more than the 954.

OTOH, maybe all the extra pork helps keep the front wheel down. I can't imagine your sprockets help you keep the front wheel down. I would say full exhaust and PCIII would be mandatory.

but a full exhaust and a pcIII is going to add what, 5hp. That isn't going to help a whole lot when driver error is involved. race him the way it is now unless you want to change it. Which I would if I where you and had the extra $$ lieing around. But the newer ZX10s are wheelie happy too.

Finch you know I was talking about the ZX-10rr!!! Hahahahahahahahaha!!! It's always a rolling start...whenever there is an open stretch of highway is when everything happens. I can't get all of second sometimes because she always wanna show her coochie (underside)!!! I think I'm gonna do just that Finch...I'm gonna run him and see where we at then get back with you. I think I'm going to dream on that 08-10 CBR 1000rr

yup anything other than stock sprockets and these babies get wheelie happy in the top end of 1st,2nd, and 3rd on my old 954. I have stock gearing on this one, and it just gets up in first and second.

I'm sorry Pimpncbr, but if I stretch it and get a 14 front I will most definitely have to take it to the track (Quarter mile) because 150 is the norm on good days!! Don't want to stretch it because I don't want to take away from my cornering. Hit the mountains every now and then!

leave the sprockets alone. for riders like us meanin not expert circuit track runners, u can run a 4-6'' stretch and still hit the twisties. if u dont want to stretch it and wanna keep the front end on the ground lower the bike.....i can speak from experience. only reason mine is not stretched is cuz it would bottom out too much. busted plenty of average riders on corners. buddy has a zx10 stretched about 6'' and would bust 90% of the people i ride wit in the corners. thats as close as ur gonna come to gettin ur cake and eatin it too
