Oh wow, all this might be for naught, anyway.

I had been eying an 01 929 Erion for $4,250, but an 02 954 with 60% of the mileage just came up for $4,500 on Kijiji (Canadian).

Respond to my e-mail, damn you!

I like the colour scheme better on the Erion, but overall I like the look of the 954 itself better, primarily because of the headlights. The 929 looks like it's still stuck in the 90s a bit (which is why I started the other thread asking what people have done to freshen up the front).

It's hard to beat a newer bike with less miles for close to the same price, though.

I have read that other than minor suspension and visual changes, other than displacement the only thing changes was that the pegs got a little higher. Have any of you sat on both? Is the 954 noticeably less comfortable than the 929?

I've always heard that the 954 is actually a bit more comfortable than the 929..... hmmm...

look at the Hurricanes still on the road
No problems in over 5yrs.
And she's sitting outside waiting for me to get off work right now.
I don't anticipate any issues getting home...
(knock on wood.. )

Well, buddy with the 954 called back and unfortunately it was a "rebuilt". Damn.

Not that getting a 929 is a bad thing, but a 954 with less miles is better (although not a Frankenbike).

I have a 2000 929 (In sig and avatar) and seriously could not be happier with it. Like a few others have said (and you already know because of your cars) when properly maintained, you practically don't even need to own a toolbox. A friend of mine owned a 1997 VFR 750 at the same time i had purchased one...He was the original owner, and in 2005 (when i had mine) he decided to pull the top end apart to check cylinder/ring condition, etc, etc....He got the head off, and no farther. At 97k miles......not even a ridge in the cylinders! He put the heads back on. Just another Honda success story...I guess my point is, whatever Honda you get a hold of, if it has been properly maintained, will give you much enjoyment. Be sure to post pics of what you decide on, and good luck!
