On my 929 the HTEV is getting kind of annoying. I removed the airbox flapper and now I want to jb weld the HTEV in place, but im not 100% which way is full open. I turned it all the way to the right and I jb welded it there. I wont know if this fixed my problem at all but im pretty sure thats wide open. I looked everywhere and can't find out exactly which way is wide open, help appreciated!

 

Service manual says that at idle the index mark should be facing toward the front of the bike, at 3000 rpm it should be facing up and at 8000 rpm it will be facing down. I'm assuming full open in your case would have the index mark facing straight down.

 

yea id look but I dont have a manual, but I actually ended up taking the exhaust off from the bottom of the headers and looked as I turned the valve by hand and just JB welded it in place at full open.
