Two hoses unplugged ??
Hello
I have a 929 and haven't experienced any problems with it so far. Yesterday as i was cleaning it, an unplugged hose caught my eye... so i removed the ram air cover and took a closer look. I found that two hoses that are supposed to be plugged into the housing were disconnected. I haven't noticed any performance issues or any problems in particular with the bike. I took a look at the service manual and found that these two hoses are the Breather tube and the air suction tube.
Here is a picture:

Because this picture is unclear here is another picture (the red arrows point to the spot of the tubes.

I tried replugging them but it is practically impossible without having to remove the housing. So i gave up on the idea... i will probably take into the shop so that they could fix this. My question is this: Is it dangerous for the bike to ride like this? Or how come i haven't noticed any problems with the bike (performance or other)... they can't be useless... they have to serve some purpose. And also would you have any suggestions as to how i can replug them without having to remove the housing?
Thank you very much

Appear to be crankcase ventilation and PAIR related. If unconnected the only bad thing would be a little oil spray occasionally. The air coming in would be filtered before it hit the intake however if your bike has ram air then you'd loose some HP at high speeds because air would escape from these openings.
Only way to plug 'em up is to either have extremely small hands or take the airbox off.

Thanx for the response chainstretcher. I did notice that one of the hoses was greasy (probably oil as you suggested). Unfortunately i do not have small hands
so i guess i will take it into the shop. I just wanted to make sure that it was not dangerous for the bike to ride it that way.
Thanx again !
