Default Bike runs like *** with gauges unplugged. PLEASE HELP.

Hey im new here and im hoping someone can help me out. I have a 99 CBRf4 with which i would prefer to delete the gauge cluster. However when disconect the gauges the bike runs like *** and the condition gets progressively worse with ride time. Once i reconnect the gauges the problem is instantly gone. Why are the gauges required? How can i bypass this problem?

Thanks,

Erik

The only thing I know that would be affected by that is the direct air injection valve would not open because the gauge outputs to the solenoid that the bike is either over or under 20kmh. But I wouldn't think it would make that big of an impact, a lot of DAI valves are either bypassed or removed completely. With the gauge disconnected and the bike on jump the purple/yellow wire to ground or neg. and you should here a click. See if that takes care of it.
