Lightbulb Trying to speed up

I have just traded my gsx-r 600 for a cbr 929....FINALLY, I HAVE MY HONDA.......SO HERE IT IS: I WANT TO SPEED THIS BIKE UP WITHOUT THE EXPENSIVE COST OF BORING THE MOTOR OR EVEN GETTING A POWER COMMANDER....AT FIRST! I WANT TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO IT, TO SPEED IT UP. I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH THE MOST COVERT LOOKING BIKE WITH SPEED WITHOUT DRAWING ANY ATTENTION TO IT. SO TO ALL YOU SPEED DEMONS OUT THERE, HERES YOUR CHANCE TO INFLUENCE THE MAKING OF A FRANKENSTEIN

Me too. I want to know how to make my bike faster without buying parts or spending money!

The only way to do it is to properly adjust your suspension and, more importantly, learn how to ride.

You could try a k & n air and oil filter and changing the front sprocket to a renthal with less teeth on it to give better acceleration, just a few cheap options to start off with

Lowering the gearing (15 front/45 rear) will increase acceleration but at the same time make it even harder to keep the front wheel on the ground under hard acceleration. A full exhaust system with a PC is the best power gain for a 929/954 but stay with the stock air filter or try a BMC race filter like in the link below. K-N filters actually hurt the performance on 929 and 954's.

Thumbs up

Sorry my bad, ive changed the sprocket and filters on my cbr 900 1997 and has made a big difference, didnt look properly that it was a 929 cbr, my 900 is running at 145bhp, are the 929's up near the 160/170bhp without mods or a little lower but still super power on two wheels

Exhausts are hard to find. Most manufactures have moved on to developing for newer bikes. You will mostly need to search the net for used stuff.

Honda CBR 954 954RR 929 929RR MIG High Mount Carbon Half Full Exhaust System | eBay

Here you go for exhaust it's not quite a full exhaust but I think it's the best looking exhaust your 929 can wear. It's pretty rare to find also. I was pretty tripped out to see they used a pic of my bike to advertise it. Mine is the Red and black.

interesting story in SSB, if you try to change the rear sprockets to make the bike "quicker", you'll dyno less hp....

same dyno, same bike, same day

stock gearing dyno'd highest (150.1hp)

-1/+2 lost a few hp(-2hp)

-1/+5 lost the most hp (-4.5hp)

it makes sense if you think about it. when you dyno a bike - you don't dyno it in first gear.... you dyno it is your highest gear. and that's because it gives you the most hp - and your motor is doing the most work. if your motor can do less work (like with different sprockets) you'll dyno less hp. interesting story
