I asked the same question!It has finger grooves, and is meant to be a comfortable grip for your passenger

 

Thats exactly what it is.

 

I find hips work well for that! And my pillion lets me know her state of affairs - and how my riding is - by the fingernails digging in

How does this bike run? 33K? not bad, what's been done maintenance wise

 

So far it runs like clockwork. Starts right up, runs and sounds like new. My buddy said he maintained it extremely well, he considering it his baby. He also did a few mods on it, not sure exactly what they are. I do know he changed the sprocket sizes to add more torque.

Thanks, at first I was slightly worried. But after joining the forum, and doing a bit more research, I see that with some TLC they can run for a very long time
