bought the bike 3 weeks ago, i went to get a tune-up and gprsteering damper and a bmc air filter put on. they called me up to store and said air filter dont fit they checked out the motor for a few and come to find out its a 954 motor on my 929 how good or bad it that.

 

id be worried just because the 954 motor doesnt just bolt right in... so you have to trust the workmanship of the person who did it..

 

is there a lot of work neededto be done to make it fit? or is just some lil stuff here and there?

 

i thought i remember reading a post on here about this topic and they said that the mounts are different. so you would have to custom fab new motor mounts and its generally more of a hassle then its worth

I thought it was a direct bolt up. all you needed was the motor, harness, slip on swtiches and the ECU? I may be wrong, but I swore I read it in here..

hmm. That sucks.. Look at the mounts man, he also may have swapped out the frame.. If nothing looks freaky on the frame, and they know its a 954 motor which should have NOTHING to do with your air box.. unless the air box is a 954 which I too thought it was the same excluding the air intakes. I would ask them again just to make sure... it could be the air box its self.
